About the role | Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga

Our Core Laboratory is looking for a dedicated and experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist with haematology morphology experience. This is a full-time permanent position of 80 hours per fortnight. 

You will be willing to learn new skills and work well as part of a team. You will be well-organised and detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and customer service. The successful applicant must have a high degree of accuracy and be self-sufficient.

To succeed in this role you will need:

• The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines
• Haematology experience with cell morphology
• A sound knowledge of laboratory operations including, safety, quality assurance processes, operation of equipment and hands-on practical experience
• Ability to work in rostered shifts including weekends and evening shifts.
• The ability to work independently
• Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
• Eligibility to work in NZ
