    New Zealand Blood and Organ Service (NZBS) has sole responsibility for collecting, processing and distributing blood in New Zealand. Our specialist services also extend to cellular therapies and tissue banking, such as the provision of stem cell products, along with cardiovascular, skin and bone allografts.     About the role 

    Using state-of-the-art technology, the Donation Accreditation team ensures that blood and blood products are safe for clinical use by conducting essential testing.


    We are seeking dynamic individuals who are enthusiastic to join a small, friendly, and committed team of professionals as part of an organisation that values its people and is committed to the delivery of safe products and services. 


    Your base salary will be between $65,842 to $86,719 depending on skills, experience and registration.

You will also have a positive attitude and have the flexibility to fully participate in our roster that includes evening, weekend, and on-call work. 


    Key Qualifications and Attributes 

    • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand.
    • A collaborative spirit capable of enhancing a small, quality-driven team.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and patient care. 

    Desirable Experience 

    • Prior hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, especially in areas of immunohaematology, quality control, and infectious disease testing, will be highly regarded.
    • A strong background in working within a regulatory framework.
    • Experience in blood banking, immunology, serology, blood grouping, and nucleic acid testing analysers will be advantageous.
