Wellington Awanui laboratory is owned by APHG, a healthcare company committed to providing facilities and services that deliver exceptional care to its clients, servicing a population of around 550,000. The laboratory is based at the Wellington Hospital campus in Newtown Wellington.

About the Role | Mō te tūranga:

Our Microbiology & Molecular Pathology Department is currently searching for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and competent Medical Laboratory Technician. This role is based at Wellington Hospital in Newtown. 

This is a full-time permanent role, working 80 hours per fortnight on a rotating roster.

To succeed in this role you will need:

• The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines
• A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Excellent attention to detail, with good record-keeping skills
• The ability to work independently, while in a supported role
• A degree in  Microbiology or a Biomedical Science and be eligible to be registered as a Technician with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand.
