    Awanui Labs - Canterbury (previously known as Canterbury SCL) is a part of Awanui Group, the largest network of human and veterinary pathology laboratories in New Zealand. Awanui Labs – Canterbury is a community-based diagnostic laboratory, and we process 3500+ samples from our 11 collection sites daily.



    About the role | Mō te tūranga:

    Our Biochemistry department is currently searching for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and competent Medical Laboratory Scientist, based in our Christchurch Laboratory. This is a permanent, full-time position working 80 hours per fortnight on a rotating roster. 

     

    To succeed in this role, you will need | Kia angitu, me whai koe i:

    • Eligible to register as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Science Council, NZ.
    • A sound knowledge of laboratory operations including safety, operation of equipment, and hands-on practical experience in Biochemistry..
    • The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.
    • A team focus with strong prioritisation, interpersonal and communication skills
    • The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
    • Ability to work evening and weekend shifts on a rotating roster.
