Medical Laboratory Technician Whangarei

With state-of-the-art equipment, Awanui Labs Northland (previously known as Northland Pathology Limited) provides high-quality diagnostic pathology services to the Te Tai Tokerau / Northland community.

About the role:

• The position is full-time (80 hours a fortnight), Monday-Friday working 8 hours per day between 08:00 and 19:30 on a rostered basis. 
• We are offering the $24.84 to $31 depending on relevant qualifications and/or prior relevant experience.
• Based in Whangarei, Northland

The Key tasks of the role are:

• Analyse diagnostic specimens utilising automated analysers to produce precise and accurate results in timely manner.
• Perform calibrations & maintenance tasks on equipment as required.
• Follow Corelab Standard Operating Procedures, demonstrating a high level of technical competency and attention to detail.
• Work well as part of a diverse team.
• Adhere to all health and safety requirements.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or in a relevant role
• Demonstrated technical expertise and a thorough understanding of biochemistry and haematology protocols and practices.
• A positive and friendly approach to your work and demonstrate cultural and social sensitivity.
• Compassion for others, including a real desire to provide high-quality care to a wide variety of patients of all ages and circumstances.
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to follow processes accurately, even when under pressure.
• Good computer skills.
