Technician/Trainee – Specimen Services Permanent Part-Time Hawkes Bay

We are looking for enthusiastic, customer centric individuals to work in our busy Hastings laboratory.  You will work collaboratively as part of the Specimen Services team. Key tasks will include sorting, receipting and preparing specimens coming into the laboratory, data entry of patient and test details, and dealing with telephone enquiries. 

• 50 hours per fortnight - Monday to Friday, plus rostered weekend overtime once suitably trained. 
• Afternoon hours- shifts finish at 6 or 6:30pm 

We are keen to hear from you if you are a Registered Medical laboratory Technician / Pre-Analytical Technician. We also welcome applicants interested in an entry-level Laboratory Trainee role. We would love to hear from you if you have: 

• Enthusiasm for health and science and a minimum of NECA level 3 in Science, Maths and English, and / or
• previous experience in a laboratory setting.
• Good customer service/ interpersonal skills and telephone manner
• Proven ability to work in a methodical manner, excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines 
• Good computer skills together with fast and accurate data entry skills
